Meet Cerberus

Why do we avoid the very space where our freedom lives? Because we aren’t alone in there.

Meet Cerberus: the three-headed mythological guard dog. In our internal world, Cerberus represents that package of uncomfortable somatic sensations and anxiety that barks the moment we try to break out of autoplay. If we want progress, we have to learn to face the dog at the gate.

But what if this somatic beast wasn’t actually your enemy?

We often view our strong, uncomfortable feelings as ‘bad guys’ out to sabotage us. But Cerberus is actually a misinformed protector. He’s operating on an old mission briefing from your childhood: “Keep this person alive at all costs.” He doesn’t care if you’re happy; he just knows his old rules have kept you breathing so far.
